In 2020, Harriet’s Sisters was founded with a heartfelt purpose. We were guided by faith to support marginalized communities in their spiritual, physical, mental, and financial health.
Harriet’s Sisters Whole Health Literacy (HSWHL) is committed to advancing health literacy and equity by uplifting the voices and experiences of underserved communities. We recognize that race is a social construct and that racism – both systemic and structural – has shaped spiritual centrism, health outcomes, access to care, and economic growth. Our mission is to help dismantle barriers created by these inequities through education, culturally responsive resources, and advocacy.
By focusing on the intersections of whole health literacy, identity, and lived experience, we empower individuals and communities to navigate their spiritual, physical, mental, and financial health with confidence. HSWHL is designed to help you make informed decisions and reclaim agency over your well-being.
Harriet’s Sisters LLC believes that whole health literacy is not just about understanding, it’s about transforming the systems that determine whose knowledge, health, and lives are valued.
Meet The Founders of Harriet's Sisters

Reverend Jennifer "Rev Jen" Williams (left) and Minister Saundra Sirmans (right) are the founders of Harriet's Sisters
Harriet's Sisters Whole Health Literacy (HSWHL) was born from a powerful collaboration between two extraordinary women; Reverend Jennifer Williams and Minister Saundra Sirmans united by a shared mission: empowering communities to take control of their complete wellness journey.
Drawing on years of dedicated research, deep spiritual leadership, and extensive medical expertise, these founders recognized a critical gap in their community; people needed accessible, trustworthy guidance that honored the interconnected nature of optimal health.

Reverend Jennifer "Rev Jen" Williams
Several years before I enrolled in seminary school in 2004, I worked with various people who encouraged me to pursue a career in psychology due to my empathetic nature and un-wavering commitment to lifelong learning. However, my journey took an unexpected turn. In June 2006, I graduated from One Spirit Interfaith Seminary as an Ordained Interfaith Minister.
While I completed my studies there, I was uncertain about the direction my ministry would take. I engaged in counseling, officiated weddings, volunteered for Disaster Chaplaincy Service, the American Red Cross, and One Spirit Learning Alliance.
As I continued my life’s journey, a life-altering encounter awaited me. In June 2019, I visited the National Museum of African American History and Culture with several friends. The experience was, to say the least, “grisly and disturbing.” I spent an entire day at the lower level of the museum, feeling my feet rooted to the spot as I witnessed each exhibit. Tears streamed down my face as I absorbed every word.
Upon returning home, I felt a need to channel the overwhelming emotions coursing through my body. I began using the photos I had taken during the museum visit to create a vision video account titled “Love Rescues We.” This project was completed in February 2020.
Additionally, I was inspired by numerous books shared on various platforms, including “Better, Not Bitter,” “How to Fight Racism,” “How The Word Is Passed,” “Black Fatigue,” and many others. These books provided valuable insights and perspectives that resonated with me.
In addition to my personal growth, I have been fortunate to support various charitable organizations. I have been involved in activities with Gods Love We Deliver, Brooklyn Public Library, One Spirit Learning Alliance, Unity Church, National Action Network, Lavender Light Gospel Choir, and The Fourth Avenue Presbyterian Church.
“Focus not only on the spirit and the mind, but also on the body. Remember, one cannot fully function without the other, and it’s equally important to nurture both aspects of your well-being.” – Rev Jen Williams
This extensive journey has led me to an incredible and remarkable business partner. Together, we’ve created the “Harriet’s Sisters Whole Health Literacy” application. We were fortunate to collaborate with two exceptional individuals who brought our vision to life:
1. Mr. Matthew Renna, a multifaceted designer and project developer, demonstrated an unwavering commitment to our needs. His dedication to our vision is truly commendable, and we are filled with gratitude for his work ethic.
2. Mr. Arthur Milano, a brand strategist, director of brand and marketing copywriter, and designer, brought our dream to life through his expertise. He listened attentively to our ideas and created something that will be shared by those who will benefit from his creativity and passion. We are incredibly grateful for their outstanding work.
